Obituary: Herrmann, Walter C.

HERRMANN, Walter C. Walter C. Herrmann, age 97, went to be with the Lord October 15, 2015.

He was born July 23, 1918 to Charles and Lena Herrmann in Vanguard, Saskatchewan, Canada, and was a resident of the Millwood area most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and retired after many years from Ryerson Steel.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the horses at Playfair, Gonzaga basketball and the Seattle Mariners.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Clarence, Philmore, Kenneth and Theodore; a son, Alvin; a grandson, Che; and special friend, Adeline Ferster.

He is survived by a son, Roger Dale Herrmann (and wife Lennie) of Chattaroy, WA; and a large extended family.

Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Hazen & Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N. Pines Road.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S. Schafer Road, Spokane Valley, WA.

Interment will follow at Pines Cemetery.
