Obituary: Keevy, Eleanor M.

Age 95

KEEVY, Eleanor M. (Age 95) Eleanor M. Keevy was called home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 1, 2015.

Eleanor was born to Harrie and Lura (Campbell) Shoults on September 19, 1920 in Gold Beach, Oregon.

After moving several times, they settled in Spokane, Washington.

Eleanor attended elementary schools in Oregon and Washington and graduated from Rogers High School in Spokane.

After taking secretarial courses for typing and bookkeeping, (which she didn’t get to use.

), her first job was working for Stall’s Ice Cream Parlor where she met her future husband, Duane Keevy.

They were later married on May 31, 1942.

(They just celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary this past May.)

They moved to Seattle where Duane worked for Boeing.

Their first son Garry was born in Seattle.

They moved back to Spokane where sons Craig and Jon were born.

Eleanor was a stay-at-home mom, raising her three boys, who became wonderful husbands, dads, and grandpas.

Eleanor enjoyed life with family and friends.

Eleanor and Duane attended Fourth Memorial Church for many years.

Eleanor is survived by her husband Elmo Duane Keevy; her three sons: Garry (Jane) Keevy, Craig (Peggy) Keevy, and Jon (Deborah) Keevy; 10 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother, Hugh Shoults in Care-Free, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents Harrie and Lura Shoults; her sister LuVerna Adam, and her brother Lee Shoults.

Memorial Service for Eleanor will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home.
