Obituary: Maxwell, Anita Louise
One of these days, my spirit will be so strong, my body jes’ won’t be able to hold it in!”
Anita, age 89, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015.
She is survived by her children, Dayle (John) Yates, Lynn (Craig) Austin, Jan Maxwell and Jeff Maxwell, along with eight grandchildren…Bob, Derek, Jonna, Brent, Karen, Kelly, Kim and Jeffrey and 22 great- grandchildren.
Anita was a life-long resident of Spokane, the fourth of five children born to Vincent and Elizabeth Longly.
She graduated from North Central High School, and at 18 married her beloved husband Dale.
They were married for 57 joyous years before he passed away in 2002.
Anita was a homemaker, wife, mother, “Nanny” and “Nanny-great” extraordinaire, putting all her energy into making sure that those she loved were well cared for.
While raising her family, she also served as PTA President and Girl Scout Leader as well as mentoring the Youth Group at her church.
Dale and Anita retired in 1983, bought an RV and said “See Ya” as they traveled the US with long time friends, meeting many new friends along the way.
Eventually they became “snowbirds” opting to spend winters in Yuma, AZ.
Anita and Dale are finally reunited.
