Obituary: Thompson, Jean Frances

Age 92

THOMPSON, Jean Frances Our beloved mother and grandmother passed away Monday, May 4th 2015 at the age of 92.

She was born February 6th, 1923 in Spokane, WA to Eugene and Lydia (Wolsborn) Parsons.

She had one sister, June Parsons.

She graduated from North Central HS in 1941.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Kaiser Aluminum, and The Crescent.

Her lifetime career was home maker and mother.

Mom enjoyed many hobbies, working in her yard, quilting, sewing, painting, crafting, and above all else, dancing.

Throughout her life she was a member of the Washington State Quilters, Scrapbaggers, Sons of Norway, Scandia, Corbin Senior Center, Browne Elementary PTSA, The BOF, The Red Hats, and a long time member and performer with the Hillyard Belles.

She was both a Boy Scout Den Mother and a Camp Fire Leader and Volunteer.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Lyle Thompson.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Robin) Thompson; daughter, Julie (Dave) Huotari; four grandchildren, Chris (Cheryl) Thompson, Matt Thompson, Jordan (Bonnie Kate) Huotari and Leah Huotari; two great-grandchildren, Jaden and Shaela Thompson.

A visitation will begin on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 12:00 noon, with a service to follow celebrating Jean’s life at 1:30 pm at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, Spokane, WA.

Private interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
