Obituary: Mills, Robert B.

(Age 84) Robert Bruce Mills was born to Mabelle A. Kent and John Gordon Mills on August 2, 1930 in Los Angeles, CA.

He attended Dorsey High School in Los Angeles; graduated from USC, Los Angeles on June 13, 1953; he graduated from Whitworth University in 2002 with a Master’s in Education.

Prior to coming to Spokane, Robert enlisted in the US Army Reserve Just after the Korean War.

He was stationed at Fort Ord, California and was honorably discharged in February 1962.

He married his wife, Charlotte, in 1963 and they enjoyed 51 years together.

Robert lived in the Spokane area for 39 years.

He worked in the Spokane County Clerk’s Office for 25 years and retired in 2002.

He was a founding member of Daybreak Youth Services.

He served on the board for Habitat for Humanity, Caritas Outreach Ministries and the vestry of St. David’s Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Bratcher (Charlie); his brothers, John Kent Mills (Jean) and Gordon William Mills (Marilyn).

He is also survived by two nephews, two nieces and two great-nieces.

A Memorial Service will be held on May 9, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N Wall St, Spokane, WA.
