Obituary: Bonner, Viola Peterson “Marie”
Age 81
She died peacefully with her loving family at her side and all around her, the way she wanted it.
Born 10/18/33 in Long Beach, CA.
to Oliver W. and Viola M. Anderson.
She was the oldest of 7 children and eventually moved to Wenatchee, WA.
In her younger years she was an avid bowler and loved playing fast-pitch softball.
She was a power player and was known for being able to hit the long ball and for her strong arm.
She met Duane “Pete” Peterson and was married in 1954 in Weiser, ID.
She was a homemaker and raised their large family while he worked for the BN Railroad as an Engineer.
They resided in Halfway, OR.
and Wenatchee before settling in Spokane, WA.
She and “Pete” divorced in 1969.
She married Gordon Bonner and they lived in Deer Park, WA.
They owned the Buckaroo Tavern in Deer Park and enjoyed the twilight years of their life on the lakes around the area fishing.
After Gordy’s death she moved to Spokane and lived the rest of her life enjoying puzzles and watching the Seahawks, while sharing a home with her daughter, Sandy.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, her step-father, Clyde Boden Sr., brothers Robert Anderson and Donald Boden of Wenatchee, and children Sherry, Dickie, Billie Jo and Randy.
She is survived by brothers, Murl (Marilyn) Anderson and Clyde (Sue) Boden Jr. both of Wenatchee; George “Bill” (Patti) Anderson of Bullhead City, AZ; and sister, Patty Davis of Orondo, WA.
Surviving children are Robert (Donna) Peterson of Chattaroy, WA; daughters Dawn (Bob) West and Sandra Kaye Schaich, both of Spokane; Richard (Tami) Peterson of Colbert, WA; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
At her request a service will not be scheduled.
