Age 72
Herman is survived by his children: Brigitte (Greg) Buckley of Beaumont, TX, Herman (Tyann) Meier of Spokane, WA and Sylvie (Winter) Meier of Pucallpa, Peru; fiancĂŠ, Jayne Singleton of Spokane, WA; sister, Barbara Starr of Spokane, WA and brother, Terry Meier of Berkeley, CA; and his grandchildren: Christopher Stouder of Cinncinati, OH, Brittany Brostuen of Bremerton, WA, Antoinette Meier of Spokane, WA and Gabriel Aragon-Meier of Portland, OR, Breann and Brendan of Spokane, WA; and many nieces, nephews in the United States and France.
He was a Veteran in the U.S. Army serving 22 years at home and abroad.
Herman was an avid antique gas and steam engine buff, a farm boy at heart, a loving and devoted husband to his wife and soul mate Marie-Therese; a supportive and strong father and a good friend to many.
Herman was a member of The Inland Empire Gas Engine Buffs, past president and board member, board member Spokane Valley Museum and City Lodging Tax Committee member.
He loved the beach, relaxing in the sunshine, tinkering with his rusty old stuff, working in the garden and spending time with his friends and family.
He will be missed greatly by many.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 19th from 4-8pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, 1315 N. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 20th at 11:00am also at Hennessey Funeral Home with Interment to follow with Full Military Honors at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Herman’s name to The Spokane Valley Heritage Museum.
