Obituary: Canfield, Terry

CANFIELD, Terry April 26, 1956- May 26, 2015 Terry was 59 years old when he was taken away from us tragically on Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

Terry was a loving father, husband and friend to all.

He leaves behind a long legacy in which he touched many through his vast interests in writing, teaching, comedy, and career as EMS Provider and Firefighter.

He graduated from Tumwater High School, obtained an AA degree through Skagit Valley Community College, attended the University of Oregon Health Services Center, and the National Fire Academy.

He was a member of the Tumwater Fire Department, Thurston County dive team, training captain for Good Samaritan Ambulance, Deer Park Ambulance, Kootenai County EMS, Newport Ambulance, Toastmasters, founder and CEO of Diversified Advance Training Associates (DATA), was a member of the Critical Incident Stress Management team (CISM) for Spokane County, and served 28 years for the Spokane Fire Department as a Firefighter/Paramedic/Lieutenant.

Terry enjoyed family, horses, tennis, fishing, public speaking, stand-up comedy (Medic of Mirth), traveling, and had a passion in helping others either through EMS, teaching or by just being there.

Terry is joined in heaven with his loving wife Lisa and stepson John Constable.

He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Canfield and sister Angie Canfield-Wilson.

He is survived by many loving family and friends.

Memorial services will be held for Terry, Lisa, and John at Spokane Calvary Chapel located at 511 W. Hastings Road, on Thursday, June 11th at 2:00pm.

A funeral service will be held the following day for family and close friends at Chattaroy Community Church.

Terry was very close spiritually with Christ, living his life to the fullest and spreading the Word.

He leaves all of us with a quote from one of his videos: “Don’t take this life too seriously, but don’t ever take it for granted!”
