Obituary: Porter, Patricia Ann

PORTER, Patricia Ann Mrs. Patricia Ann Porter (Pignanelli) entered peacefully into rest in Spokane, WA on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:30 pm at the age of 80.

She is survived by her daughter Debra Porter, Sydney, Australia; son Mark Porter, Spokane, WA; two granddaughters, Brianna Souder, Spokane, WA and Shannon Porter, Portland, OR; her great-grandson Logan Souder; great-granddaughter Kelsey Souder; and her brother Frank Pignanelli, Spokane, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband John Porter, Spokane, WA and her parents Frank and Clara Pignanelli, Spokane, WA.

Patricia was born on September 5, 1934 in Spokane, WA to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pignanelli.

She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1952 and worked for three years at Jensen-Byrd.

She married John L. Porter on April 7, 1956 at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral in Spokane, WA.

Patricia spent the next two years living on Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, WA before spending the remainder back in Spokane, working for 25 years at Macy’s from 1975 to 2000 when she retired at the age of 65.

She was an active member in the 1960s and 1970s with the Linwood Elementary PTA, was a leader in both the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and traveling.

Patricia was an accomplished cake decorator, making beautiful birthday and wedding cakes mostly for her friends and family.

The Rosary will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division, with the funeral Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 10:00 am at Hennessey’s.
