That’s News to you answers

Here are the answers to this week’s quiz:

1. A. Latin America’s first pope returned to Spanish-speaking South America.

2. B. Calleguas Municipal Water District filed a complaint against “Magnum P.I.” and “Blue Bloods” actor Tom Selleck and his wife, Jillie, accusing them of having water from a fire hydrant in Thousand Oaks delivered to their 60-acre ranch in Hidden Valley. Their Hidden Valley estate is located outside the boundaries of the Calleguas Municipal Water District service area, so delivery of potable water to Selleck’s home violates district law, the complaint said. But the public works director for Thousand Oaks said a construction company paid a fee to secure the rights to draw water from the city hydrant two years ago.

3. D. In June, Naima Quarles-Burnley replaced Rachel Dolezal, who resigned amid allegations she had lied about her race. She will finish out the remainder of Dolezal’s two-year term.

4. D. They marked the 10th anniversary of suicide bombings on London’s transit system in the worst terror attack on British soil. Four British men inspired by al-Qaida blew themselves up on three London subway trains and a bus during the morning rush hour on July 7, 2005, killing 52 commuters and injuring more than 700.

5. D. Republican South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley signed a bill to remove the Confederate battle flag from the Statehouse grounds.
