Obituary: Duncan, Kenneth A. “Ken”

Age 80

DUNCAN, Kenneth A.

“Ken” Kenneth A. Duncan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 27th, 2015.

Ken was born in Great Falls, MT, September 27, 1934 to Alfred T. and Dorothy T. Duncan.

He graduated from Montana State University where he met and married the love of his life, Mary E. (Freese) Duncan.

Shortly after graduation ken began his career with the Social Security Administration where he served as a Field Representative for 25 years.

Ken spent most of his free time engaging in sports-related activities including golf, bowling, and rooting for his beloved Seattle Mariners, Seattle Seahawks, Montana State Bobcats, Washington State Cougars and Spokane Indians.

Ken passed his love of sports to his children and was very much involved in their activities.

He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Spokane American Youth Hockey Association and served as a volunteer hockey coach for a number of years where he was a positive influence on the lives of many local players.

He was also a member of the all-volunteer crew that constructed what is now the Eagles Ice Arena in north Spokane.

Ken is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Karrie Duncan Spokane, WA, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Dawn Duncan, Spokane, WA, and son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Melanie Duncan, Spokane, WA; grandchildren: Chris Duncan, Stacey Duncan, Taylor Duncan, Katie Duncan, and Brenden Duncan all of Spokane, WA; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. “Betty” Duncan; parents, Alfred T. and Dorothy D. Duncan; and daughter, Dorothy “Dee Dee” Duncan.

Funeral services are to be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 10:00 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 7315 N. Wall St. Spokane WA.

A reception will follow at the Eagles Lodge, 6410 N Lidgerwood, Spokane, WA.
