Obituary: Taylor, Ruth M. “Mamo”

TAYLOR, Ruth M. “Mamo” (Age 96) Taylor, Ruth M. “Mamo” entered into rest at her home on January 24, 2015.

Ruth was born in Garber, Oklahoma and graduated from Garber High School in 1937.

She and her family moved to Pullman, WA for a year, and then settled in Spokane, WA in 1948 where she worked as a beautician.

Mamo was a loving and devoted mother/grandmother who loved spending time with her family, enjoyed summers at the lake cabin, and absolutely adored ballet.

Ruth was preceded in death by Deland Taylor, her husband of 54 years; her daughter Dela “Dee” Hopkins; her son, Orville Joe Taylor; and one grandson.

She is survived by her daughter, N. Marlene Willis; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Ruth will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015 at noon, at Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane, WA followed by interment at Spokane Memorial Gardens at 2:00 p.m. A potluck reception will be held at Nexus (formerly the Hearing Loss Center), 1206 N. Howard St., Spokane WA from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
