Obituary: Brito, Mike A.
93 Years of Life A resident of the Denison area of Deer Park, Washington, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015.
He is the dear husband of Marie Brito and the father of Jim Brito, Tony Brito, Pat Brito, Ronnie Brito, Adelaida “Lila” Toma, and Mary Marquez.
He has eighteen grandchildren, forty-three great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Mike’s goddaughters are Margaret Roberts of Utah and Geraldine Trujillo and Olivia Mondragon, both of Colorado.
Mike is preceded in death by his previous wives, Ufelia Ortega and Florence Emma Bowman and three children: Joe Brito, Beatrice Brito, and Gilbert Brito.
Born in 1921 at Ojo Sarco, New Mexico, Mike assisted his father on their cattle ranch, and during World War II, he served briefly in the United States Navy.
In 1954, Mike joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and while living in Deer Park, he attended the Deer Park Ward.
Being a master carpenter, he was a very proud life-member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union of America.
Funeral services honoring Mr. Brito will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Riverside Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at North 34221 Newport Highway (just south of the Riverside High School), Chattaroy, Washington, with Bishop Joel Stapf conducting.
Interment with military honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard will be in the “Honor Section” at the Greenwood Memorial Terrace Cemetery in Spokane, Washington.
