Obituary: Maycroft, Lewis William
Age 80
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marlene Vigil, and Patricia Mackowick (Jerry) and three nephews.
He is survived by two sisters, Dorene Newton (Leonard, deceased) and Marthene Bruce (Larry) as well as three generations of nieces and nephews.
He served in the Army, stationed in France and Germany from 1951-1953, where he learned how to drive.
After explaining to a general that he did not know how to drive; the general commanded him to get in the jeep and drive anyway.
Lewis will be remembered as a kind and generous man.
He could make everyone laugh, was a wonderful cook, and would burst into song or poetry in the middle of social gatherings much to everyone’s delight.
He was also a very talented artist whose artistic abilities were inherited by several of his nieces and nephews.
Prior to his retirement he was the manager of num erous apartment complexes.
He will be missed by all who knew him well.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 3:30pm at The Avenues Event Center, 9320 E. Mission Ave., Spokane Valley, WA.
