Obituary: Bonser, Thomas R.

Age 67

BONSER, Thomas R. Thomas A. Bonser passed from life on January 7, 2015.

He was born February 19, 1948, the first-born son of Arlene (Grine) and Bill Bonser.

He grew up in Hillyard where three generations of Bonsers worked on the Great Northern Railroad.

Tom is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother Arlene Blake, his father Ray “Bill” Bonser, two sons, Michael Ray Bonser and Thomas Allen Bonser.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; his two daughters, Terri and Debbi Sullivan; sisters Marie Brady, Margie Greenwalt and her husband Keith; his brother Joel Bonser and his wife Teresa; his daughter-in-law Shelby Hill Bonser; his grandchildren Jeffery Michael and Mikelynn Rae Bonser; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

In Tom’s lifetime, he served his country in Vietnam, worked as a cook and as a federal employee.

He loved people and he loved to give.

His outstanding accomplishments in the Spokane community include his volunteer work for Spokane schools, Kop Shop NW, Care Cars for the elderly, PFLAG, TOPS and Veradale UCC.

Tom was much loved and now is tenderly missed.

A memorial service will be held for him at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.

Luncheon to follow.
