Obituary: Baker, Ruthell

Age 58

BAKER, Ruthell (Age 58) February 4, 1956- January 18, 2015 Ruthell’s heavenly transition started Sunday, January 18 at 9 a.m.

Surrounded by her husband John, daughters Nicole Monique and Amanda Ruth at home.

Ruthell sailed away to start her great reunion in eternal glory with daughter Krista Lynn, son Robert John and other loved ones who have gone ahead.

Ruthell was born in Waterville, WA and raised in East Wenatchee.

After graduating from Eastmont High School, she moved to Spokane during the summer of Expo ‘74.

What followed was a 41-year courtship/marriage with her husband John, after working together at the A&W Restaurant.

John and Ruthell were married on February 26, 1977 in Spokane.

Ruthell, served in the health care industry for over 37 years.

One of “Mama’s” greatest joys was being in the company of family, especially her two “boys”, grandsons Wyatt James Nelson (2 1/2) and Emmett John Nelson (eight months).

Over the years, Ruthell enjoyed gardening, trying new recipes, crafting, quilting, word games and jig-saw puzzles.

Her greatest achievement was being a mother to three daughters and one son.

Ruthell is survived by husband John W. Baker, daughter Nicole (Ryan) Jonak, daughter Amanda (James) Nelson and grandsons Wyatt James and Emmett John Nelson, sister Darlene (Stan) Maxwell, Sister Debbie (Paul) Nicolai, and brother Russ (Lisa) Ogle and numerous nephews and nieces.

Ruthell was proceeded in death by her father Roy Ogle, mother Elva Choquette, stepfather Leo Choquette, infant son Robert John Baker, and daughter Krista Lynn Baker.

The viewing is Friday, January 23rd from 1-7 p.m. at Hennessy Funeral Home and Crematory, 1315 N. Pines Road in Spokane Valley.

Lunch reception open to all will be Saturday, January 24th from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church on Spokane’s South Hill, 4320 S. Conklin.
