Spurs waive Daye

The San Antonio Spurs waived former Gonzaga University player Austin Daye on Saturday. Daye, a forward who was obtained by San Antonio from Toronto in a trade on Feb. 20, 2014, appeared in 26 games for the Spurs this season, averaging 4.0 points and 2.3 rebounds in 10.3 minutes. He started four games this season and scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win over Minnesota on Jan. 10. The Spurs will be obligated to pay what is left of Daye’s $1.063 million NBA contract, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
