Obituary: Krause, Frank

Age 83

KRAUSE, Frank (Age 83) On Saturday, January 10th, Frank Krause entered eternal rest in the loving hands of our Lord.

Born in North Bend, Oregon, on November 15th, 1931, he was a Portland Hall of Fame 3-star athlete, grad- uating from Franklin High School in 1950.

Frank attended the University of Oregon on a football scholarship followed by a 26-year career in the Air Force.

Frank settled his family in Spokane, Washington, where he and his wife, Marlene, raised three children.

Frank was the consummate outdoorsmen and family man.

Weekends were spent with family and friends fishing, camping, skiing, boating, and playing golf.

Frank Krause was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jean Krause and his sister, Elaine.

Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marlene; his daughter, Cathy (Tim); his sons, John (Susan) and Dave (Katie); grandchildren: Derek, Ben, Tyler, Nick, Emily, David, and Lauren.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at North Central Care Center for their loving care and attention to both Frank and especially his wife, Marlene.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 6th at 11:00 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 9706 North Division, Spokane, Washington 99218.

The service will be officiated by Jim Johnson, pastor.

A lunch reception will follow the service.

Interment will follow at 3:00 at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA.

A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held this summer, hosted by his grandchildren, featuring a golf tournament and BBQ.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Frank’s two favorite charities: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Union Gospel Mission.
