Denny leads Liberty to upset over Reardan

Christine Denny hit four 3-pointers and scored a game-high 30 points to power Liberty to a 59-53 upset over Reardan in a Northeast 2B League game Friday night in Liberty.

Denny also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals. Abby Karlis scored a season-high 10 points and added eight rebounds and three steals for Liberty (8-7, 3-6).

Karlis primarily matched up defensively against Maddie Johnson, one of Reardan’s top scorers, and helped hold her to nine points.

The Indians’ Kamille Langford had 12 points and eight rebounds and Michelle Tinsley added 12 points and six boards.

Reardan fell to 10-4 overall and 6-3 in the league standings.

Great Northern

East Valley 59, Pullman 45: The Knights (11-2, 5-0) used two dominant quarters to get past the host Greyhounds (6-7, 2-3).

East Valley outscored Pullman 39-17 in the middle two quarters to win its fifth straight game.

The Knights’ Hannah Burland scored 20 points and Jordan Phelan added 11 points and eight rebounds.

Emily Drake led three Greyhounds in double figures with 17 points and also had five rebounds and five steals.

Intermountain

Kellogg 36, Bonners Ferry 32: Janet Lo scored 13 points, including three key free throws late in the fourth quarter, and the Wildcats (6-4, 1-2) shook off a sluggish start and edged the visiting Badgers (6-7, 0-3).

Kellogg trailed 10-2 in the first quarter, but ramped up its defensive pressure after halftime to spark the comeback.

Bonners Ferry’s Savannah Woods scored 13 points.

Northeast A

Lakeside 58, Colville 28: The Eagles (12-1, 7-0) shot 57 percent from the field in the first half, built a 23-point lead, and eased past the Indians (6-7, 5-2) in Nine Mile Falls.

Lakeside’s Jocelyn Cook-Cox led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points. Elaine Taft had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Colville.

Freeman 39, Deer Park 32: Sydney Sather scored 16 points and Cassidy Crosswhite added 10 as the Scotties (3-9, 3-4) pulled away with a 12-4 fourth-quarter run and beat the host Stags (0-13, 0-7).

Deer Park’s Damaris Guske had a team-high nine points.

Riverside 45, Medical Lake 28: Julianna Trepanier scored 14 points and Hayley Pace added 13 as the Rams (4-8, 3-4) opened the game on a 14-2 run and eased past the visiting Cardinals (3-9, 3-4).

Medical Lake’s Cassidy Hagel scored 13 points.

Chewelah 39, Newport 34: Kara Frederick scored eight of her game-high 14 points in the final quarter and the Cougars (6-7, 5-2) edged the visiting Grizzlies (3-10, 2-5). Chewelah broke a first-quarter tie with a 17-7 second-quarter run.

Newport’s Hadley Stratton scored 13 points.

Southeast 1B

Pomeroy 47, St. John-Endicott 31: Kacey Halbert made 11 of 20 shots, including 5 of 6 free throws, and scored 27 points to guide the Pirates past the Eagles (6-7, 3-4) in St. John. St. John-Endicott cut Pomeroy’s lead to 10 in the third quarter, but the Pirates regrouped and pulled away.

Gracie Dickerson led the Eagles with 14 points, nine rebounds and eight steals.

Garfield-Palouse 53, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 22: Payson Griner scored 17 points and the Vikings (2-10, 2-6) dominated through three quarters before letting up in a win over the Tigercats in LaCrosse. Keely Burnes added 16 points and Katie Arrasmith chipped in 11 for Garfield-Palouse, which limited LWK to just five first-half points. Jazzmyn Gordon led the Tigerscats with eight points.

Oakesdale at Colton, ppd: Oakesdale’s game at Colton was postponed due to several Oakesdale players having the flu. A make-up date has yet to be set.

Nonleague

Springdale 50, Inchelium 42: Freshmen Breanna Erickson and Nichole Beckman led the Chargers (6-9) past the visiting Hornets (5-4). Erickson scored a team-high 12 points and Beckman added 10 points and 16 rebounds.

Olivia Williams kept Inchelium in the game with a game-high 26 points, including 12 in the final quarter.

Odessa-Harrington 51, Cusick 47: Lanessa Simon and Shelbey Watkins combined for 29 points and the Titans (5-8) pulled away after halftime and edged the host Panthers (3-8). Odessa-Harrington erased a three-point halftime deficit by outscoring Cusick 28-21 in the second half. The Panthers’ Renee Wynn had 12 points and Racheal Wynn added 11.

Northport 48, Valley Christian 45 (OT): Ashtyn Baribault extended the Mustangs’ lead to five with a pair of free throws with 25 seconds left and Northport (2-9) held on to defeat the visiting Panthers (2-10). Baribault finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and three assists and Clara Sanchez added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Phoebe Trigsted led three Valley Christian players in double figures with 13 points.

Republic 69, Columbia 11: Michelle Vanslyke led a balanced offensive attack with 19 points, five assists and four steals as the Tigers (13-0) overwhelmed the visiting Lions (0-11). Republic’s Shania Graham added 18 points, Katie Rittel had 14 points, 14 rebounds and seven steals, and Carlie Rittel chipped in 11 points, 13 rebounds and six steals. The Tigers outscored Columbia 29-0 in the second quarter and led 47-2 at the half.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 65, Selkirk 34: Breanna Oliver made 6 of 12 shots, including 7 of 8 free throws, and finished with 20 points, nine rebounds and four steals as the Warriors (11-2) overwhelmed the Rangers (3-7) in Coulee City. ACH’s Berlyn Hunt added 19 points and Reinnee Rocket chipped in 15.

Selkirk’s Hannah Rick tallied a team-high 12 points.

Wellpinit 69, Curlew 34: Kyra Antone led all scorers with 18 points, Jovahni Seymour had 11 and Adrianna Parr chipped in six points and eight rebounds as the Redskins (8-5) defeated the visiting Cougars (6-8). Wellpinit led by 10 after the first quarter and turned the game into a rout with a 19-4 third-quarter run. Kayleona Fanning tallied a team-high 14 points for Curlew, which lost its fourth straight.
