Recreation, historical preservation committees seek applicants
The Spokane County Parks and Historic Landmarks committees are looking for applicants interested in recreation and preserving significant sites.
Multiple vacancies in all districts need to be filled on the Spokane County Parks Advisory Committee. One member is needed from Districts 1 and 2 in the north and eastern portions of the county, and two people are needed in District 3 in the southwest. Applicants should have a passion for outdoor recreation and must be able to meet for two hours every other month. The committee advises the County Parks Department director, and each member serves a four-year term.
An at-large position needs to be filled on the Spokane City/County Historic Landmarks Commission. The 11-member board meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 2 p.m. for about three hours. The group is responsible for naming and maintaining historic sites in the city and county.
Those wishing to apply, or wanting more information, should contact Ginna Vasquez in the Spokane County Board of Commissioners office, at (509) 477-2265 or by email at gvasquez@ spokanecounty.org. Applications will be accepted through Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
