Obituary: Kalb, Betty Lou

KALB, Betty Lou Our beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Friend passed peacefully in her sleep on January 10, 2015 at the age of 87.

Betty was born September 5, 1927 in Cocolalla, ID.

After moving to Spokane Valley for Secretary School, she married Ernie Kalb on October 17, 1948.

Together, Betty and Ernie joined Millwood Presbyterian Church.

In May of 1954, they were blessed with the arrival of their oldest daughter Shelley.

Two short years later, in March of 1956, they were blessed with the addition of Mary Kay.

Betty spent many years as a doting wife and mother.

Through the years, Betty and Ernie enjoyed boating, spending weeks at a time in the Puget Sound.

Later, when the girls were grown, they began travelling in their motor home.

Betty and Ernie were married for a wonderful 54 years.

After the passing of her husband, Betty spent her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grand- children.

She loved traveling with the family, remained active with her church, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernie, also, a brother and sister, her daughter, Mary Kay, and great-grandson, Nolan.

She is survived by her brother, Don, her daughter, Shelley, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous friends and loved ones.

A viewing will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Valley, 1306 N. Pines Spokane Valley, WA on Thursday, January 15 from 1:30 to 5:30 pm.

Betty’s Memorial Service will be held at her church, Millwood Presbyterian, 3223 N. Marguerite Rd., Spokane, WA on Friday, January 16 at 3:00 pm.
