Plum leads UW women to win over Cal

SEATTLE – Kelsey Plum scored 30 points to help Washington hold on and beat California 79-77 on Sunday.

Jazmine Davis’s 3-pointer broke a 64-all tie and sparked a 9-2 run to give Washington a 73-66 lead with 1:10 left. Plum made four three throws and Talia Walton made two to make it 79-74 with 3 seconds left. Cal’s Brittany Boyd drained a 3 just before the buzzer to cap the scoring.

Plum made 9 of 18 field goals and 11 of 12 from the line. Walton finished with 11 points and now has 1,001 career points.

Aminah Williams had 10 points with 10 rebounds for Washington (13-3, 2-2 Pac-12) and is one rebound away from 1,000 in her career. Davis added 12 points and Chantel Osahor 10.

Mikayla Cowling scored 20 points, Reshanda Gray had 19 points and 14 rebounds, and Boyd chipped in 10 points with 15 assists to lead California (11-4, 3-1).
