WSU, UW women lose home games

Reshanda Gray scored 24 points and matched her career high with 16 rebounds to lead California to a 70-62 Pac-12 Conference win over Washington State Friday in Pullman.

Brittany Boyd added 12 points, 12 rebounds and six assists and Gabby Green had 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Golden Bears (11-3, 4-0). California has not trailed in winning four straight.

Lia Galdeira led Washington State (10-4, 1-2) with 16 points, Tia Presley had 14 and Mariah Cooks had 13 with a career-high 14 rebounds.

Cal, which led 35-27 at the half and was up by 11 midway through the second half, had a 53-39 advantage on the boards. That led to 42 points in the paint but the Golden Bears also had 22 turnovers that WSU turned into 20 points.

Washington State shot just 34 percent with Galdeira and Presley, who average 38.4 points between them, going 12 of 40.

The Cougars host Stanford on Sunday at 1 p.m.

(15) Stanford 60, Washington 56: Amber Orrange and Lili Thompson led the second-half charge as the 15th-ranked Cardinal rallied to beat the Huskies in a Pac-12 game in Seattle.

Thompson banked in a 3-pointer with a second left on the shot clock to put the Cardinal (11-4, 3-0) up 60-55 with 25.7 seconds remaining. The Huskies (12-3, 1-2) failed to get a good look from there. Thompson scored 13 of her 15 and Orrange 12 of her 14 after the break. Samuelson added 12 points and Kaylee Johnson grabbed 13 boards.

Aminah Williams had 12 points and 15 rebounds, Kelsey Plum added 16 points and six assists and Jazmine Davis finished with 13 points and four assists for Washington. Stanford pulled down 13 offensive rebounds and committed just nine turnovers.

The loss was the second for the Huskies in their past 14 games.

The Huskies host California on Sunday before a two-game road trip to Oregon and Oregon State.
