Prep roundup: Jenna Schlosser guides Mead to GSL gymnastics win

Jenna Schlosser won three out of four events to place first in the all-around Thursday as Mead won a four-way Greater Spokane League meet at Mead Gymnastics Center.

Schlosser won the uneven bars (9.475 points), floor exercise (9.5) and vault (9.325) as she scored 36.1 overall.

University’s Demri Ogelsbee won the balance beam (9.2) and placed second in the all-around at 35.45.

Third-place Kaitlyn Engen (34.975) and fourth-place Carrie Jacka (34.6) helped Mead to 173.75 points.

U-Hi placed second at 164.125, followed by Shadle Park (131.575) and North Central (126.775).

Boys basketball

Nonleague

St. Maries 73, Lakeside (Idaho) 60: Logan Feasline scored 19 of his game-high 23 points in the first half and finished with 14 rebounds to help the Lumberjacks (6-1) defeat the visiting Knights (4-5). Matt Smith added five assists and five steals for St. Maries. Jordan Nilson led the Knights with 21 points and Hunter Kolar added 15.

5A Inland Empire League

Post Falls 53, Lake City 40: Shayna Allert and Sam Runkle scored nine points apiece during a 23-9 third quarter as the visiting Trojans (11-3, 1-1) pulled away from a 16-all halftime to defeat the Timberwolves (13-3, 2-1). Runkle finished with 17 points and Allert had 11. For Lake City, Olivia Maryon scored 10 points and Clarissa Smith had seven rebounds and nine points.

Nonleague

Kootenai 40, Coeur d’Alene Charter 38: Katey Mae McInturff scored 19 points and the visiting Warriors held off the Panthers (5-3), whose potential tying field-goal attempt fell short. CdA Charter’s Amelia Lehosit and Sarah Hayman combined for 24 points.
