CdA police seeking suspect in child luring

From staff reports
Coeur d’Alene police are looking for a man suspected in a child luring incident that occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Thursday at a McDonald’s restaurant. A 4-year-old girl apparently approached a transient who was going through the trash in the children’s play area of the restaurant. When she asked him what he was doing, he said he was looking for his monkey and asked for the child’s help, a news release from the police said. The man and the child then began to walk out of the play area and toward the front door. The child’s mother saw what was happening and grabbed her child, then called police. The suspect left the building on foot and has not been found. The suspect is described as being in his 50s or 60s, about 6-feet-tall and 200 pounds, bald with blue eyes and glasses. He was clean-shaven or had light stubble and was wearing a gray vest, gray pants and brown or tan boots. Anyone with information is asked to call the Coeur d’Alene Police Department at (208) 769-2320.
