Auditions

Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre Auditions will be Jan. 17 and 18 for “First Date,” “Singing in the Rain,” Shrek the Musical,” various readings and concerts. Classes and workshops

City of Moscow Arts Commission, the 1912 Center and Heart of the Arts Workshops Classes will be at the 1912 Center, 412 Third St., Moscow, Idaho. Jewelry Embossing with Patricia Cassidy: Participants age 18 and older will learn about embossing and how to bend metal to the design of their choice on three pairs of earrings or pendants. 6-9 p.m. Feb. 11, register by Feb. 9. $78, supplies provided. Basic Pastel Painting with Bonnie Griffith: Participants age 18 and older will learn the basics of pastel painting. Students provide their own pastels. Register by March 12. $150, covers both sessions, plus cost of supplies. Experimental Pastel Painting with Bonnie Griffith: This workshop is for pastelists age 18 and older who have been working in pastels and want to take their work to the next level. Students will provide their own pastels. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 21, register by March 19. $125, plus cost of supplies. Drawing in Color with Dana Aldis: In this four-session workshop, participants age 15 and older will develop their drawing skills and hand-eye coordination while working from observation. Students will learn basic traditional drawing techniques such as line, structure, value/shading and cross-hatching, as well as composition. No experience necessary. All materials will be provided. Students will work at their own pace and complete two to four pieces of art to take home. 4:30-6 p.m. April 8, 15, 22 and 29; register by April 6. $32/per class; $128/all four classes. Photography in Blue: Cyanotype with Harlan Crichton: Participants age 10 and older will use cyanotype, a nontoxic alternative photographic process, to produce images. No photography experience is necessary. Participants will have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind images using found materials, old film, pressed flowers, jewelry or any other relatively flat objects. 10 a.m. April 25, register by April 23 at 5 p.m. After that, applications will be accepted if space is available. $25.
