Rain washing away Spokane’s snow
SPOKANE — Rain is washing away the snow that fell over the weekend in Spokane and many other parts of Eastern Washington.
Some schools are closed or delayed Monday around the Inland Northwest because of road conditions.
The city declared a Stage 1 snow event Sunday, directing residents to move their cars to the even side of residential streets to make room for snow plows.
The city had two dozen trucks clearing emergency routes and arterials after 5 to 10 inches of snow fell over the weekend.
The snow turned to rain Monday as the temperature climbed above freezing.
