Pass judgment with care
What do some of you people want? You demand law enforcement act with gifted foresight, then condemn based on subjective hindsight. You demand perfection of outcome regardless of the lack of cooperation, or outright provocation of the other person(s) involved. You demand answers right now rather than wait for a cogent dissemination of completed investigative facts.
You demean or dismiss factual investigations not conforming to your personal prejudice. You demand independent investigative bodies that should be bound to the same objective standards of interviews and forensics while drawing from the same funding source as law enforcement. You pass judgment based on half-truths, lies of omission, or the fictional standards observed in the entertainment media.
You require editorial profundities such as Shawn Vestal’s, who wrote “but sometimes the best thing to do when a cop tells you to drop the gun is drop the gun.” No, really?
Perfection exists in no profession; however, few other vocations face the shifting variables and immediacy routinely confronted by ethical law enforcement. If you must pass judgment, please educate yourself as to the law, the rules of engagement and try not to substitute objective facts with your subjective desires, or ignorant bigotry.
