Obituary: Neraas, Beverly

NERAAS, Beverly Our beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend, Beverly Ann Neraas, died on December 28th in Seattle.

She was 82, and had come to the end of a long and blessed life.

Bev will be remembered as a warm and gracious hostess, who made many people feel welcome in her home over the years.

She loved having a party just as much as her husband Don did, and they sure knew how to entertain.

Bev was devoted to her family.

She loved being a mother and grand- mother, and she was a great one, with her pillow presents, water fights, and the abundant gifts she showered on AJ and Abbie Barber, Anders, Marten and Peter King.

She will also be remembered as a person of faith and a faithful friend.

Bev grew up in Spokane, the daughter of Swedish immigrants, George and Freda Nelson.

She went to Lewis and Clark High School and the University of Oregon.

She married Donald Neraas in 1953 and they were married for 54 years until his death in 2007.

Bev is survived by their four daughters: Julie, Kathryn, Nancy (Mike King) and Amy (Bill Barber), numerous nieces and nephews, and by many friends.

She was an active volunteer and board member: on the Community Foundation; the Junior League; and at Central Lutheran Church.

One of her most fulfilling roles was as a leader in the Self-Sufficiency Program for women.
