Idaho holds off Weber State

Late Scott jumper pushes Vandals to 2-0 in Big Sky

MOSCOW, Idaho — Mike Scott’s jumper with :03 left to play lifted Idaho to an 86-84 Big Sky Conference victory over Weber State Saturday night. With the win Idaho (7-6) goes to 2-0 in its return to the Big Sky while Weber State (5-8), the preseason conference favorite, falls to 0-2 on its season-opening road trip. Sekou Wiggs led the Vandals with 22 points and Scott added another 14. Wiggs layup to start the second half gave Idaho a 10-point lead, 46-36, but the Wildcats rallied quickly, forging a 48-48 tie with 17:19 left in the game. From there, neither team could manage more than a four-point lead. Richaud Gittens tied the game at 84-84 with :26 left with a pair of free throws. Jeremy Senglin scored 22 points to lead Weber State, with Chris Golden adding another 16 points while Joel Bolomboy scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
