Obituary: Wissink, David J.
(Age 52) David was born on March 28, 1962, in Renton, WA, and passed away peacefully on January 25, 2015, in Spokane Valley, WA.
David was raised and attended school in Chewelah, WA.
He later worked for the Chewelah Post Office for seven years before moving to Spokane, where he attended Spokane Community College to study Body/Fender.
He lived in the Valley for approximately 20 years, where he worked for several major companies.
His pastimes were watching football, bicycle rides, nature walks, family gatherings and getting together with friends and neighbors for barbeques.
But most of all, he loved being with and caring for his pride and joy, daughter Angel.
David was preceded in death by his father, James (Bud) Wissink; grandparents, Frank (Agnes) Wissink and Ann Cowell, all of Chewelah; Melvin (Janet) Hunt, Colville; step-sister, Julie (Meyer) Bell, Columbia Station, OH.
He is survived by his adored daughter, Angelina Jamie Hamlin, Spokane Valley; mother, Lavonne Griffin, Spokane Valley; step-mother, Joanne Wissink, Chewelah; brothers, Dan (Jodi) Wissink, Chewelah and Doug Wissink, Portland, OR area; sisters, Diane (Colin) Mai, Chewelah and Debbie (Jeff) Paulson, Colville; step-brothers, Barry (Peggy) Meyer, Chewelah, and Bill (Annie) Meyer, Spokane Valley; aunts, Leanna (Dave) White, Seattle, Kath Chamberlain, Spokane, and Mary Marshall, Chewelah; uncle, Pat (Lorene) Wissink, Chewelah, and extended family.
David grew to be a gentle, soft spoken man.
He was a wonderful loving father, son, brother and uncle.
He will be so missed by all.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Chewelah Catholic Cemetery.
