Obituary: Nelson, Lee L.
Age 53
He was born on December 5th, 1961 in Seattle.
He left behind his ex-wife and best friend Cheyrle Nelson (G), children Charley and Misty Allen-Olson and Shawna and Joel Cosner, beloved grandchildren Samantha (Sammy) and Joshua Cosner, mother Mary Ann Nelson, his siblings Larry Nelson, Lenny Nelson, Laurie Richards and Lanae Cleveland.
He also left behind many nieces and nephews, along with numerous friends.
Lee was a beloved member of the facilities and community outreach teams at the Community Health Association of Spokane (CHAS), serving since 2001.
Lee had an incredible passion for homeless outreach, including work on the Sydney Project (transitional housing), outreach to shelters, and camps.
He was a huge advocate for the homeless in our community, connecting people to housing resources, health care services, and safety checks.
Lee also organized sock and clothing drives, often spending countless hours outside of CHAS to help with homeless advocacy.
Lee had a passion for watching sports, movies and collecting elephants because they do not forget.
One of his greatest joys in life was helping others.
He had a lot of love to give and shared that with so many people.
Lee was loved dearly for his caring and giving personality and will be missed tremendously.
Services will be held at 1:00pm on February 15, 2015 at 1428 W. 9th Ave. Spokane WA.
A Celebration of Lee’s life will be held directly following the service at City Gate 170 S. Madison.
In lieu of flowers please bring something to further his passion to help the homeless.
