Police: Primary suspect in Safeway shooting still at large
Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with a shooting at a North Spokane Safeway, but are still seeking an additional suspect.
Investigators say Ricky Tanner, 23, is their primary suspect in the Jan. 26 shooting that occurred following an argument in the store’s parking lot on North Market Street.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to Tanner’s arrest. Anyone with information can call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit it online.
The two 17-year-old suspects in the shooting were arrested Tuesday and are being charged as adults. According to court documents, police believe the teens were part of a group that had arrived to assault another group of people whom they had had an altercation with earlier in the day.
Police said the teens are members or associates of the “NFL Squad” that is affiliated with the Gangster Disciples street gang, according to court documents.
The group the suspects were targeting fled the scene, court documents say. One of their vehicles was hit twice by bullets as it left the parking lot.
