Obituary: Phillipe, Patrick Neil
Patrick died peacefully in his home and was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on January 26th.
He was born in Long Beach, California and moved to Alaska in 1972 to follow his pioneering spirit.
He married his first wife Shirley Park Leer and they had four beautiful children who he enjoyed immensely.
He worked for the Alaska railroad and was instrumental in the birth of the Talkeetna Christian Center eventually quitting his job to answer the call to be the pastor there.
After 13 years in the wilderness of Alaska he and his family moved to Spokane where he met his second wife Ginger.
He loved spending time with his family, fishing with his boys, playing guitar, cheering on the Rams, going to his grandchildren’s soccer games and just making people laugh.
He lived life guided by his strong Christian faith.
He knew the importance of the small things and didn’t worry about things that were better left in God’s hands.
He is survived by his wife Ginger Phillipe, his four children: Jeremiah Phillipe, Jessica Cobb, Jason Phillipe, Jennifer Phillipe; three stepchildren Jeff Atabelo, Jennifer McCandless and Greg Atabelo; his father, three brothers, two sisters, 21 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.and many loving friends.
He will be greatly missed by all !
Memorial services will be Friday, February 6th at 3:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church at 318 South Cedar in Spokane.
