Obituary: Mauer Sr., Gerald A.
(Age 78) Gerald “Jerry” was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on September 13, 1936.
At age two his family moved to Spokane, WA where Jerry spent the remainder of his life.
He graduated from Central Valley High School in 1955.
He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Paetel.
They were married for 60 years.
Jerry worked for Rosauers for 23 years.
Upon leaving, he went into the furniture business from 1973-1996.
He owned Opportunity Furniture and Second Time Around Furniture.
Jerry was a friend to everyone, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He loved and lived life to the fullest.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, going to the casino and spending as much time as possible at the Oregon Coast with his family.
Jerry was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn; sister Sharon (Jay); children Chris Lubbers (John), Scott Mauer (Julie), Jer Mauer (Wendy), Jenny Dzedzy (Ed); eleven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and his dear friend and caregiver Joey Thola.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 12, 2015 from 1-4pm at 23618 E. 3rd Avenue, Liberty Lake, WA 99019.
