Obituary: Thompson, Warren Lloyd, Jr.

Age 79

THOMPSON, Warren Lloyd, Jr. June 1, 1936 - August 10, 2015 Warren was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Warren Lloyd and Rose Caroline Thompson.

He graduated in 1958 from the University of Tulsa where he received a B.S.

in Business Administration.

He was a member of Phi Gamma Kappa, Alpha Tau Omega, Delta Sigma Pi, and Sword and Key Honor Society.

After graduating, Warren was selected as an Internal Revenue Agent in Oklahoma City, OK.

He then moved to Houston, TX to work for Gulf Oil Corporation.

He met his wife, Carol, and they married in 1970, a marriage that would last 45 years.

When Gulf Oil Corp. was bought by Chevron Oil Corp. they moved to Danville, CA.

Warren served as a Deacon of First Presbyterian Church, Houston, TX, Treasurer of the Greenbrook Home Assoc., Danville, CA, and Board Member and Treasurer of the Friends of the Spokane Library, Spokane WA.

Warren was a survivor of the 1989 California bay area earthquake.

Warren was an avid bridge player, voracious reader, volunteer, and Gonzaga basketball fan.

He also loved traveling and displaying his Dicken’s Village sets.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Melissa (Nate) Thompson, son Trey (Rachelle) Thompson, grandchildren Melody, Blake, and Mikaela and his sister Beverly Hill (Daton) of Albuquerque, NM.

Warren was a member of Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, Spokane, WA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2:00PM at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, 4102 S. Crestline St. Spokane WA 99203.

Warren was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather who will be missed very much.
