Auditions

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” Auditions – Spokane Children’s Theater is looking for eight or nine actors, and possibly extras, ages 8 to adult. Visit www.spokanechildrenstheatre.org for more cast information. Prepare a one-minute song with a CD with back track, but no vocals on the back track. There will also be a short dance audition, so wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Thursday and Aug. 21, 6 p.m. Actors only have to attend one night of auditions. Spokane Children’s Theatre, 2727 N. Northwest Sacred Music Chorale Auditions – The group is looking for people who love to sing. Auditions will include a short interview, vocalizing and singing a few lines of a hymn. A prepared solo piece is not required. Candidates are encouraged to choose and confirm a time with Artistic Director Stan McDaniel at chorale@NWSMC.org or (208) 446-2333. Open Figure Drawing Studio – The session will be uninstructed, and will be ongoing every Sunday, 5-8 p.m. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. You will be drawing the human figure, using live models. We will alternate male/female models weekly. These ongoing sessions are open to anyone 18 or older, (using nude models). Call for artists

Coeur d’Con Fan Art Contest – Are you a budding artist looking to show your skills to the community? Enter the Coeur d’Con Fan Art Contest by downloading the application at www.coeurdcon.wordpress.com or by picking up an entrance form at the library. Submissions are due Aug. 25 and will be displayed in the library Aug. 27-29. Winners will be selected by popular vote from each age category: kids (0-12), teens (13-19), and adults (20 and older). Yuletide 2015 To apply for Yuletide, complete an application form and send 10 digital images on a CD or electronically to spokaneartschool@gmail.com (label each image with title, medium, dimensions and price), a brief resume, and a self-addressed stamped envelope with proper postage (to return the CD) to Yuletide 2015 c/o Spokane Art School, 809 W. Garland Ave., Spokane, WA 99205. All entries must reach Spokane Art School by 5 p.m. Aug. 28. There is no application fee, but there is a $250 booth fee upon acceptance to the show.

McEuen Park Wall – The City of Coeur d’Alene Arts Commission is seeking artists for the McEuen Park Wall. There is no theme to this call to artists, allowing for open interpretation and creativity to make a lasting impression on residents and visitors. Information packets are available at City Hall, 710 E. Mullan Avenue, Coeur d’Alene, or online at www.cdaid.org. Artists may submit up to three designs, and proposals are due Aug. 28.
