Obituary: Cook, Eleanor Heartha
Age 92
Born to Chris and Mina Rasmussen in Everly, Iowa, on September 22, 1922, Eleanor grew up in Elk Horn and Kimballton, IA., and attended Grand View College in Des Moines, IA.
In 1946, she married Glain Henry Cook, and the family moved to Spokane Valley in 1949; residing mainly in Greenacres.
Eleanor was active at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and in Eastern Star.
She worked at Spokane Valley Good Samaritan Lutheran Home and at various care centers in the Valley and in Coeur D’Alene.
Eleanor is survived by her five children; Barbara (David) Aanonson, of Iowa, Bonnie Cook, of Idaho, Steven Cook, of Otis Orchards, Curtis (Pam) Cook, of Newman Lake, and Kevin Cook, of Spokane; by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by one brother, Erling (Ruth) Rasmussen, of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother, Norman Rasmussen, of Atlantic, Iowa.
A graveside service will be held at the Memorial Gardens, Spokane, WA, on Friday, April 24 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Shriners Hospital or Tekoa Care Center, Tekoa, WA.
