Obituary: Delzell, Lucia
She moved to Alaska to make a home in Juneau and Sitka.
In Alaska, Lucia served as the first female Finance Officer for the state’s Health and Social Services.
Her adventures included flying to a remote village in the Aleutian Islands where she lived in primitive conditions while counting fishing boats owned by the tribes.
In Juneau she owned and ran a Bed and Breakfast and hosted people from all over the world.
She earned a degree in Hospitality and Management from the University of Alaska.
She lost her daughter to breast cancer in 2006.
Her life was all about her Bichon, Monty and her three grandsons, Sean, Brennan and Timothy.
She loved her travels and adventures with her cousin Charlotte Bradley.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Parish, 219 E. Rockwood Blvd.
on Tuesday, September 30th, at 1:00 pm.
