2 Author Dan Butterworth 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Gonzaga University, Cataldo Hall, Globe Room, 502 E. Boone Ave. Gonzaga kicks off its yearly Visiting Writers Series with a writer who’s not traveling from very far: GU English professor and poet Dan Butterworth. Algonquin Books published his creative nonfiction book, “Waiting for Rain: A Farmer’s Story” (1992). His first book of poetry, “The Radium Watch Dial Painters” (2008), was a finalist for the Washington State Book Awards. His latest collection of poetry, “The Clouds of Lucca,” came out this month.
