Priest Lake campers the problem

In response to Steve Barber’s Sept. 3 letter concerning the removal of cabins on Priest Lake, I disagree.

My family and relatives have had cabins on Priest Lake for over 100 years and maintain the properties in pristine fashion, unlike the campers who trash the campgrounds. If you want to see what our citizens do, just drive out to the state park at the end of South Bank road and look at all the broken glass and other trash strewn everywhere. The road is also littered with empty bottles and cans. Those of us living on South Bank make it a weekly practice of picking up the trash.

So, rather than “shame on you” to homeowners, shame on you to trashers! They, unlike cabin owners, don’t appreciate the environment.
