Fall Festival - Eighth annual event with working antique farm equipment and craft demonstrations. The Lost Apples of Whitman County - David Benscoter will present information about the rich history of apple growing and orcharding in Whitman County. Last year one apple, thought to be extinct, was rediscovered in Whitman County. There are at least 11 more lost varieties that are known to have been grown in the county and are waiting to be found. Cabinet Rehab - Update tired cabinets with chalk paint. Bring a cabinet door (no larger than 18-by-24 inches) or a drawer front from your own kitchen or bath. You will learn to test the existing finish to determine what surface preparation is needed. The group will choose from several options of decorative painted finishes, three of which will be demonstrated in the workshop. You will choose a finish to complete on your cabinet door. Spokane County Interstate Fair 2014 - This year’s theme is “Ridin’, Rockin’ and Livestockin’.” Live music, animals, exhibits, amusement rides, food and much more. Fair hours are 10 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, closing at 8 p.m. the final day. Seniors get free admission on Monday; law enforcement, firefighters and military get free admission on Thursday. Come Feed the Buffalo - Tours are offered every Friday through Sunday on the hour from noon to 4 p.m., from May 16- Sept. 30. Visitors will learn the farm history and bison facts during a slide presentation and Q&A session. Everyone will get an opportunity to meet and greet the herd and hand-feed the buffalo. Gifts, souvenirs, leather goods, jewelry and more are available at the on-farm gift shop. Groups are welcome, call for more information. Shelter in Place - SCRAPS and Spokane Emergency Management are teaming up to present a seminar on what to do if a disaster occurs requiring you to stay in your home. SCRAPS Walk in the Park - Pledge walk to raise funds for the SCRAPS Hope Foundation Animal Medical Fund, which provides medical treatment, enrichment and care for homeless animals in our area.
