Obituary: Inkpen, Gordon Robert Archibald

Age 96

INKPEN, Gordon Robert Archibald (Age 96) With a big name like Gordon Robert Archibald Inkpen, Robert Inkpen (aka Big Bob) graced our lives in a big bold way.

Born on August 1st, 1918 in Edmonton, Alberta Canada he passed away on August 27, 2014 at 96 years of age.

He was blessed with a true love for others and he never met a stranger.

He extended his love and grace to many loved ones, his Canadian friends and family, Cominco friends, his fellow Cougar Bay Sailing Club and his large Northwood church family.

He and Dorothy, his first wife had four loving children, Gail Trimble-deceased (Dennis), Rob (Mary), David, (Carole Gibson) and Geoff (Carol).

From this great union they had eight grandchildren, Jennifer and Melissa, Shannon, Jessie, Emily and Elizabeth, Katlyn and Sierra and five great-grandchildren.

Bob and Dorothy eventually settled on the Northside of Spokane after residing in Trail, B.C.

They were active members of the Cougar Bay Sailing Club, Spokane Club and Northwood Presbyterian.

He was one of the last two Charter members of Northwood Presbyterian.

After Dorothy’s passing, Robert married Jody Hall and merged two large families together to create a large Hall-Inkpen family.

Jody’s family loved Bob the day they met him, he had a large, loud and loving demeanor and had the ability to take you under his wing.

He was the center of many joyous occasions.

Jody’s family includes Kevin (Julie), Jenny, Stacy and Tyler, Brian (Trudy) and Liz.

Special thanks to the Royal Park Care Center staff for their many years of care and to Hospice of Spokane.

Please join us at Northwood Presbyterian, N. 6723 Monroe, Friday, September 5th at 3:00pm for a truly great celebration of his life.

The family would like to suggest donations to Northwood Presbyterian or Hospice of Spokane in lieu of flowers.
