Ice Palace hopes to open Wednesday

The folks at Riverfront Park hope to open the Ice Palace for the season on Wednesday after warmer-than-average fall temperatures delayed the opening by a week.

It takes at least six days of consistently cooler weather to ready the surface for skating, according to the city of Spokane’s website.

The Ice Palace will be open Tuesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., through March 1, with additional hours Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7-8:30 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 7-10 p.m. Riverfront Park is at 507 N. Howard St.

Cost: $5/adult, $3.50/youth (3-13), senior (62 and older) and military with ID; $3.50/skate rental; $45 Ice Palace Pass (all ages).
