Spokane stabbing suspect located by police
Spokane police said today they located the man who stabbed a driver Saturday night and are working to sort out conflicting accounts of a confrontation that included two people being hit by a vehicle in the 2000 block of West 7th Avenue.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing just before 7 p.m. The initial investigation indicated two people had witnessed a possible domestic violence incident between a man and a woman in a vehicle. The witnesses decided to intervene and were struck by the vehicle, and at some point one of the witnesses stabbed the driver, Officer Teresa Fuller said.
The man who stabbed the driver fled the scene but contacted police this morning to give a statement. He was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries consistent with getting hit by a car, Fuller said.
Police have contacted all individuals directly involved in the incident. Each party gave police differing statements, and the investigation is ongoing, Fuller said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has additional information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
