Prukop piles up yards at Bobcats rally past Hornets
Dakota Prukop piled up 488 total yards and accounted for eight touchdowns – including a four-yard scoring pass to Mitchell Herbert with 4 seconds left – and Montana State (4-2, 2-0) beat Sacramento State 59-56 on Saturday night in Sacramento, California.
Prukop completed 23 of 34 passes to 10 different receivers for 348 yards and five scores and added 140 yards rushing and three more touchdowns on 16 carries.
The lead changed hands four times in the fourth quarter alone and the teams combined to score 49 points in the final 15 minutes – including 28 by Sacramento State (3-3, 0-2), a school record.
Neither team was able to score in the second quarter.

N. Colorado 24, N. Arizona 17: Kyle Griffin returned an interception 84 yards for a touchdown and the Bears defense forced five turnovers in the second half to lead Northern Colorado to a win over the Lumberjacks at Greeley, Colorado.
N. Arizona (3-3, 1-1) led 10-3 at the half but gave up 14 points on turnovers after the break and missed opportunities to score.
Portland State 23, UC Davis 14: Kieran McDonagh ran for two touchdowns and Jonathan Gonzales kicked three field goals as the Vikings beat the Aggies at Portland.
Portland State (2-3, 1-0) led 17-0 at the break on McDonagh’s two scores and a field goal by Gonzales. The Vikings defense held UC Davis (1-4, 0-2) to just 70 yards in the first half.
Cal Poly 42, S. Utah 39: Chris Brown and Kori Garcia each ran for fourth-quarter touchdowns as the Mustangs (2-3, 1-1 Big Sky) survived a battle with the Thunderbirds (1-5, 1-1) at San Luis Obispo, California.
Brown threw for two touchdowns and Brandon Howe punched it in from the 1-yard line as Cal Poly bolted to an early 21-0 advantage.
