Obituary: Henderson, Colleen Madonna
Connie was born to Matthew T. and Eva V. Mellon.
She was a devout Catholic and attended Mary Queen Parish in Spokane, WA.
Connie grew up in Spokane and was a graduate of John R. Rogers High School.
She worked at SHMC for 33 years and was the first Pharmaceutical Buyer in Spokane, an accomplishment that she was very proud of.
She was also very proud of her Irish heritage.
Connie has two sisters, Patricia Disciascio (deceased) and Sharon Mata (living), to whom she was very close and loved very much.
Connie is survived by two sons, Timothy P. LaBrosse, DDS (Darlene) and Matthew T. Ymer; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Connie also had numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, all dearly loved by her.
She was preceded in death by three husbands, Leo LaBrosse, Ali Ymer and Adelbert Henderson and one brother that passed away as an infant.
Her family would like to thank the SHMC ER staff that helped in the final months of her life and also Horizon Hospice (Jennifer Smith, RN) that assisted in the last week of her life.
Horizon Hospice was truly a Godsend.
They would also like to thank Kirk Rowbotham, MD and Keith Kadel, MD for their compassionate care and expertise in treatment of Connie.
She loved these two doctors a lot.
The Holy Rosary will be said for Connie at Hennessy Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division Street, Spokane, WA, Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Rose Chapel.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Queen Parish, 3423 East Carlisle Avenue, Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Father Hartin will lead the Rosary service and Father Paul Vevik will celebrate the Funeral Mass.
Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
Connie will be buried privately with her mother at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
On October 3, 2014 as the sun set on the horizon, Connie left the bonds of earth and gained eternal freedom in Heaven, we love you and will miss you very much, mom.
