Griz drub Bobcats, eye FCS at-large bid

Jordan Johnson threw three touchdown passes and put up almost 400 yards of total offense to help Montana to a 34-7 win over visiting Montana State on Saturday.

With a potential FCS at-large bid up for grabs, Montana used five first-half turnovers by Montana State to build a 27-0 lead.

Around the league: Justin Arias went 25 of 43 for 322 yards and three TDs and Daniel McSurdy ran for 266 yards and two scores to lead Idaho State over visiting Weber State 46-28. … Backup QB Dano Graves rushed for two TDs as visiting Cal Poly trounced Pioneer League champ San Diego 34-3 in nonconference play. … Ammon Olsen threw for 298 yards, including a 56-yarder to Mike Sharp for the go-ahead score, to lead Southern Utah over host Northern Arizona 22-14. … Garrett Safron was 25-of-33 passing for 288 yards and four TDs to lead Sacramento State to a 41-30 win over host UC Davis. … Jer Garman ran for 164 yards and two TDs and North Dakota forced six turnovers to snap an eight-game road skid, beating Northern Colorado 33-14.
