Obituary: Charvat, Audrey Elaine (Lund)

CHARVAT, Audrey Elaine (Lund) Audrey Elaine (Lund) Charvat entered into rest 11/15/2014 with her family holding her in their arms.

She was preceded in death by her dear husband, Elmer R. “Al” Charvat and her loving daughter Barbara L. (Charvat) Rogers, as well as her parents, Margaret and Oscar Lund, and her siblings June Bugge, Keith Lund, Clem Lund and Betty Ross.

She is survived by sister Joyce Lund of California and sister-in-law Wilma Lund of Spokane, as well as Nina Huntley.

She is also survived by son-in-law Fred Rogers, cousin Chet Lund and wife Noreen, cousin Laverne Strid, in-laws Carl and Mary Charvat, and nieces and nephews: Keith, John, Neil and Bruce Bugge of Minnesota, Cyndi Ross, Steven Charvat, Kathy and Brian Campbell, Allene (Wykoff) Reis, Kendall Wykoff, Christine Wykoff, and many extended family members.

Audrey was born 5/17/1926 in Wild Rose, ND, and moved with her family to Spokane as a teenager.

She worked in downtown Spokane in her younger years, and was a devoted wife and mother.

She and Al spent much of their time visiting family and friends, with a special love of seeing that shut-ins got lots of attention.

Audrey enjoyed keeping an immaculate household and helping husband Al with the immaculate yard, especially enjoying the over 100 rose bushes they tended.

She was an avid Zags fan, catching every possible game, and when they weren’t playing, she had the Seahawks or Mariners tuned in!

She loved all types of music, and really enjoyed listening to country lately.

She had a beautiful smile and everyone who knew her said she was very sweet.

She was a gem to be around, and very bright, keeping her brain active with evening game shows and current events.

She is missed already and will linger in our hearts as the gentle soul we knew and loved.

Visitation will be held Friday 11/21/14 from 2-6pm at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division.

Funeral Services will be there also, Tuesday, 11/25/14 at 1:30pm, followed by Interment at 2:30 at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
