Obituary: Brisbin, Walter W. “Bud”
The family moved to Townsend, Montana and later settled in East Helena where he attended school.
He graduated from Helena High School in 1937.
Over the years he worked various jobs, Civil Conservation Corps, pattern maker in a factory, eventually spending most of his life in construction.
In 1939 he married Vivian, a union that lasted just two days short of their seventieth anniversary.
Vivian passed away May 6th of 2009.
During those years they raised four children.
His work took them to various cities and towns in Montana and with each move, Vivian also worked many places to keep herself busy after the kids were on their own.
Their last adventure was a big move to Fairbanks, Alaska where Bud worked construction and as a contracts inspector and Viv worked for the school system until they retired in 1983.
They returned to the lower 48 and settled in Spokane.
They enjoyed traveling around in their motorhome, gardening, and family BBQs and helping anyone with remodel projects.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting while he was capable to do so.
He was also a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge in Three Forks, Montana.
Vivian also enjoyed her hobbies, sewing, knitting and china painting.
With their age and failing health, they decided to move to Park Place assisted living, where both spent their remaining days.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff at Clair Bridge and Hospice of Spokane for their exceptional care.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother.
Vivian was preceded by her parents and three sisters.
Survived by children Carol Lesiak (Chester Montana), Donna Hixson (Harry) Spokane, Linda Kelly (Spokane) and Mike Brisbin (Carol) of Prescott Valley, Arizona.
They also left behind twelve grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren and sixteen great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held for them at a later date in Helena, MT.
